Mom. Writer. Marketer. Technical Communicator. Illustrator. From the first crayon in my hand to crafting communications and copy, I love to write. When angry, I write to vent my frustrations. When happy, I want to share that happiness. When I learn something, I want to expose others to that knowledge.
How I got here: Education
Associate Degree in English + 3 Children
As noted before, I have been writing since an early age, so it seemed natural for me to seek a degree in English after high school. As it would happen, life happened and my first college experience netted me a 2-year associate degree in English. That, and my first child. My husband graduated and we moved to California. I continued to write creatively for myself as my family grew. As I was busy with the effort of raising and caring for a family, more changes came and I became a single mother of 3.
Bachelor Degree in English - Technical Communications
I returned to college after my divorce and earned a degree in English – Technical Communications from Utah State University, Logan, UT. With that degree in hand, I began my formal career at OEC Medical Systems, Inc. OEC was bought by GE and eventually became GE Healthcare. As part of OEC and GE, I gained valuable knowledge in Reliability, Regulatory, Change Control, Configuration Control, Usability Engineering, Service and Support and many different engineering disciplines.
Continuing Education
I continue to expand my knowledge with training in areas such as agile and scrum, bookkeeping and google ad management. One of my favorite areas of study is in investing, financial and payments industries.
